The Third Force of the Earth Directorate is a military arm of the Earth Defense Directorate, under the command of Col. Wilma Deering in 2491 CE.
A wing of Thunderfighters from this Force is sent as a welcoming committee to the approaching Draconia, en route to Earth for the conclusion of trade talks and a mutual defense pact between the Earth and the Draconian Empire. A "pirate" attack tests this squadron, who rely heavily on computer aided defenses that the Hatchet fighters take deleterious advantage of, were it not for William "Buck" Rogers's "antiquated" air force skill set.
All but Deering and Rogers survive this assault, resulting in a loss of the Third Force's wing while impressing a lustful and power ravenous Princess Ardala (BR25: Film, "Awakening").
