Summary
The Buck Wiki is a "living" dictionary and episode guide to the Buck Rogers saga, including serials, comics, and various television series. It is a "living" website, because it can be changed and amended by users. You can add pictures, information, and external links to content elsewhere in support of information contained within the Buck Wiki. Each entry such as those on, let's say, Ranger 3 herself or Captain William "Buck" Rogers, are like dictionary/encyclopedia entries on that person/item/topic.

For an idea of what the Buck Wiki can be with YOUR help, visit the Battlestar Wiki and the Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5 for ideas and inspiration.

What is this Wiki About? (And why aren't we called "Twikipedia"?)
The Buck Rogers Wiki (a.k.a. Buck Wiki) is a free online encyclopedia and episode guide covering the Science Fiction sagas of Buck Rogers. Thus, the Buck Wiki is aimed to cover everything related to the Buck Rogers sagas—from Ardala to Zarina the Wiki covers and continues to expand coverage on all things Buck.

As such, we did not call ourselves "Twikipedia," as Twiki is solely a construct from Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979-1981 CE). Also, the domain name was taken, and would cost hundreds of dollars to acquire — if at all. So, that put a nail in that coffin.

This site maintains a strict spoiler policy, but please read it so that you know what should be expected. Please refrain from engaging in acts of vandalism. Violations may result in being blocked by a senior or supervisor archivist.

For ideas about how you can help feel free to check out the projects that are being worked on. If you need any help or have any questions or suggestions, feel free to ask a chief on their talk page or post your question to the Archivist's noticeboard or the Archival Directorate.

Getting started
In order to be able to contribute files to Buck Wiki, you need to be logged in. You can register at the "Log in / create account" link in the upper right corner and enter a user name that will be used at all of your contributions.
Present Day
We presently cover all aspects of the Buck Rogers series, spanning all incarnations of the Buck Rogers serials, comics, and television series. You'll find -- and can add -- information on such items as terminology seen, events that occurred, and characters introduced & developed.

We will also furnish a complete and thorough guide, a la Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5 and Battlestar Wiki, to analyze and dissect the installments from this series. Unlike the Lurker's Guide, contributions are immediate and can be edited without the tedious process of emailing corrections and awaiting the webmaster for an update.

How to Utilize
Utilization of this Wiki is fairly straight forward.

For starters, you need a means to identify yourself. Therefore, you'll have to create a user account, which is fast, easy, and, of course, free.

Any hyperlink without an icon next to it, such as this one on the term Earth Defense Directorate, leads to an entry on this website about that term. Above it, you will find a list of tabs. In this group of tabs, you'll find the "Edit" tab. Click it, and you'll be able to add, correct, or remove content. The Editing Help portion of the site will cover the essentials in editing entries, but it'll be like posting to a message board, and you'll see your results immediately.

You'll also be able to discuss the topic by clicking the "Discussion" tab. So, if you want to question on the merit of a piece of information in that entry, or spur discussion, you can do that there without including it in the "official" entry. (Thus presenting information and not back-and-forth bulletin board type commentary.)
