National Aeronautics and Space Administration (also known by its acronym, NASA) is a space agency operated by the United States of America.
In 1987 CE, United States Air Force Captain William "Buck" Rogers is assigned to fly the one-person deep space probe, Ranger 3. However, a freak accident causes Ranger 3's life support systems to go haywire, providing the perfect mix of gasses to put Rogers in suspended animation. It is one of NASA's known failures to have survived into the 25th century, as Ranger 3 is the last known NASA mission prior to World War III (BR25: Film, "Awakening", "The Guardians", "Testimony of a Traitor").
