Appearance
Crichton's body is comprised of a tapering elongated cube. His neck is extendable allowing him to reach over ten feet in height.
History
Origin
Crichton was created by Dr. Goodfellow to assist the scientist with his work. Twiki aided in this creation and in several episodes he referred to Chrichton as his "son"
When first activated, Crichton recited Asimov's three laws of Robotics.[N 1]
Personality
Crichton has a quite abrupt manner, as demonstrated by his refusal to accept that he was created by a human. When annoyed he will extend his neck to look down on others.
Aboard the Searcher
When Crichton's brain unit was temporarily damaged, it was briefly replaced with Twiki's brain unit. [2]
Behind the scenes
Crichton was named after The Admirable Crichton, the title character in the J.M. Barrie play of that name.[3]
His voice was provided by Jeff David.

- ↑ Crichton did not recite the prequel, 'Zeroth' law, to which the other laws were subordinate, as it did not exist when the series was made. Asimov created the Zeroth Law in his 1985 book Robots and Empire, as he felt that his initial three laws were insufficient to protect society at large. This law, which is basicaly a wider reaching variant of the first law, stated that a robot may not injure humanity or, through inaction, allow humanity to come to harm.[1]
