After Fox's abduction by Roderick Zale's agents, Cyrton approaches Dr. Elias Huer to solicit the Earth Directorate's assistance. Officially receiving a rejection by Huer due to Genesia's status as an independent planet, buck encounters her just as she leaves, revealing that she is not only aware of who he is but also references his work on extricating Jan Burton from Zeta. Sometime later, Cyrton goes to Buck's Apartment when he prepares to leave for a vacation with Tangie, drugging him via hypospray and therefore susceptible to her directions.
In 2486 CE, Helson resides with his wife and children on Cygnus V, working as an agro-station farmer. In a mysterious shuttle accident, his wife and children are slain by a Vorvon, although their bodies were never found. Despite being arrested and tried, he is acquitted of their murder, and he vows to hunt down the Vorvon.

Cyrton absconds with both Rogers and his thunderfighter, explaining Fox's origins to him and the reason why Genesia went out of its way to avoid entanglements with Earth, all while en route to Aldeberan II Cosmic Whiz Kid.
This lead to his relocation to New London, where he began his new career in bounty hunting. During this time  Space Vampire.

Rogers and Wilma Deering are en route to Genesia to meet Cyrton and Fox for five days, but their trip was cut short by their encounter with a Vorvon at Theta Station while bringing Twiki there for repairs Space Vampire.
